British Heart Foundation
Toolstation is proud to be partnering with British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Every 3 minutes someone dies from cardiovascular disease in the UK. It can affect anyone. Babies. Children. Adults. The people you love most and those you least expect, often when you least expect it. But together, in partnership with BHF, we will help change that.
We'll work together to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease and its risk factors among people working in the trades, while also raising vital funds to support our lifesaving research. We’re committed to training all our colleagues in lifesaving CPR, giving them the skills and confidence to act if they witness a cardiac arrest.

VIY
Toolstation has worked with Volunteer It Yourself for over two years. VIY is a social enterprise that teaches young people a range of DIY and trade skills by getting them to volunteer in community projects such as repairing or refurbishing youth facilities. This leads to improvements to the local community as well as teaching the young volunteers skills for life – so everybody benefits. Participants are mentored by local professional tradespeople and can work towards and gain City & Guilds entry level qualifications in construction.
Since 2011, more than 12,000 young people have taken part in more than 600 projects in the UK. Toolstation supports this innovative charity by working with them to identify relevant projects and funding the youth element of these specific projects including skills and training, mentoring by VIY’s lead mentors, City & Guilds accreditations for the young people and the facilitation of further training and employment opportunities. In its first year working with VIY, Toolstation worked on projects in Coventry, New Malden, and Wembdon near Bridgwater, helping 99 young people learn valuable trade skills.
Young Builder of the Year Awards by Youthbuild UK
Since 2013 Toolstation have been sponsors of the Young Builder of the Year Awards run by Youthbuild UK. The mission of this worthy charitable organisation is to promote engagement with young people to combat social exclusion, through the development of construction based support services, and celebrate young people’s success. The Young Builder of the Year Awards celebrate the achievements of young people, who despite having to overcome a range of barriers have succeeded in becoming qualified and/or gaining employment in the construction industry.
