What Are Boiler Flues Used For?
A boiler flue pipe carries boiler exhaust gases out of your home, releasing them into the atmosphere. Boilers burn oil or gas to heat your home, producing toxic chemicals like carbon monoxide. Ensure the outlet is positioned far enough from windows and doors to prevent fumes from re-entering your home with a boiler flue extension kit.
Installing a boiler vent cover prevents debris from getting into the flue and causing hazardous blockages, which may lead to exhaust gases returning down the pipe into your home. Boiler flue rain covers or roof flashing can be used to prevent water from getting into the system.
