What are RCCBs For?
RCCBs safeguard against electrical shocks, potential fires and damage to equipment and appliances caused by faults. If they detect a problem, they disconnect the circuit and cut off the power. RCCBs are similar to RCBOs with one crucial difference: RCCBs cannot protect against overloading or short-circuiting on their own.
What are the Different Types of RCCBs?
There are many different types of RCCBs with a range of amp ratings, phases and curve types for various applications and purposes. RCCBs are also known as RCDs (residual current devices). There are three main types to look out for: fixed RCDs, socket-outlet RCDs and portable RCDs.
