A single shower pump is perfect when you just need to increase the pressure of either hot or cold water. However, if you want to boost both hot AND cold water, you’ll need a twin shower pump. We stock plenty of both, with a range of pressures from 1-4 bar to suit all kinds of requirements.
Negative Head Shower Pumps
A negative head shower pump is required for an outlet that isn’t able to rely on gravity – if the shower head is positioned above the cold water tank, for example. A negative head pump is able to suck water from the tank to feed the shower. It’s also known as a universal shower pump, because it can be used in positive head installations too.
Positive Head Shower Pumps
A positive head shower pump is suitable for gravity-fed systems. If the cold water tank is positioned above the outlet, this shower booster pump will get to work – when the water flows downwards into the pump at the required rate, it lifts a float switch inside the pump to start the impellers.
Wondering what’s the best water pump for your shower? Check the pump’s pressure – a 2 bar shower pump will increase the pressure and improve the performance of two to three showers or taps in the home. Higher pressures can be used to boost larger and more powerful shower systems, while lower pressures can be chosen as a shower power booster for single outlets.
