Bootlace Ferrules

Bootlace ferrules are used to create reliable connections in electrical installation jobs. They can be used with control units, switching cabinets, poke-in clamps, row clamp connectors and function units.

What Are Bootlace Ferrules?

Bootlace ferrules are metal tubes that are crimped over regular electrical wires to make a safe, successful connection. Widely used by electricians, engineers, mechanics and other tradespeople, they are usually colour-coded and come with an insulation collar.

How To Use Bootlace Ferrules

Ideally, you should use a crimping tool with bootlace ferrules. Most bootlace crimp tools, also called ferrule crimpers, are electrically insulated and come with ratchets. Firstly, strip the wire or cable, feed it into the ferrule and then use the tool to crimp the tube together for a reliable connection.

Toolstation stocks a selection of quality crimping, stripping and cutting tools for use with bootlace ferrules. Find products from leading brands such as Minotaur, PRO and Copper, including semi-ratchet crimping tools and multifunctional modular crimping tools.
