Core drill bits are designed to bore precise holes in heavy-duty materials like masonry, brick, stone and concrete. They have a hollow centre that collects the drilled-out material, leaving a clean hole.

They are sometimes known as diamond core drill bits as they have diamond powder embedded into their surface for extra grinding power. Core drill bits can also be made from carbide.

What Are Core Drill Bits Used For?

While they have a variety of drilling purposes, core drill bits are often used for making holes in solid walls to install waste pipes, ventilation pipes or cables in a property.
